Health Care for Residents of Public Housing Regional Training Conference-Austin, TX November 8, 2011

You are located a few miles from a public housing development
You probably already serve residents of public housing at your health center.
Health disparities are a major problem
Public housing residents have significantly poorer health outcomes and are one of the most vulnerable populations in our country. Their plight is further exacerbated by isolation and an equally high concentration of social problems. Studies show that residents of publicly subsidized housing have a higher incidence of morbidity and mortality than the general public and this is a significant barrier for residents in gaining and sustaining employment, and achieving self-sufficiency.
Training and technical assistance (T/TA) is available
This regional meeting will provide T/TA on clinical and administrative best practices and an orientation on the specialized needs of residents of public housing. Visit us at
